GRANT, Mary Verna (85) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Verna Grant on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Verna was a daughter of the late Levi and Gertie (Keefe) Haines and spent her 85 years residing happily in Little Dover. Verna is survived by her son Roger Grant (Gertie), sister Marie Bouchie, grandsons, Doug MacKenzie (Marlene), Warren MacKenzie, Roger Grant (Alesha) and Darrell Grant; granddaughters, Kerry Richardson (Dennis), Clarice Grant (Greg) and Jennifer Grant (Brian); granddaughter-in-law Ann Marie Grant and, her pride and joy, her great-grandchildren, Rayden, Ashton, Mackenzie, Janna, Morgan, William, Layne, Grant, Sam, Anna, Kyler and Olivia along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Doug Grant, her daughter Carol Ann MacKenzie, son-in-law Steve MacKenzie, grandson Gordon Grant; brother, Gerald Haines and sister Jean Horne. Funeral mass was held on Monday, April 17, in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover, with Father Dan MacDonald officiating.
