GURNEY, Peter William Wayne - 58, Little Dover, Guysborough, Co., passed away peacefully Monday, April, 7, 2008, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital with his family at his bedside. Born in Canso, he was a son of the late Irvin and Gladys (Casey) Gurney. Wayne was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover. He was a lifelong fisherman. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Donna (Newell); son, Robin, at home; daughter, Trixie (Anthony), St. Andrews; grandchildren, Breanna and Daniel; brothers, Arnold (Louise), Edmonton, Alta., Murray (Phyllis), Lunenburg: Milton (Wanie), Prospect; Fred (Polly), Russell (Thelma), both of Canso; sisters, Valerie (Donald) MacKenzie, Durrells Island; Sandra (Eugene) Newell, Tickle; sister-in-law, Marg Gurney; goddaughter Juanita. Wayne was predeceased by brother, Paul. Funeral mass was 11 a.m., Friday, in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover, with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital or Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Horne, Canso.
