COOKE, Alberta Elora - 87,
Isaacs Harbour, Guysborough Co.
died December 30, 1996, at the home of her daughter,
Carole, Dartmouth. Born in White Head, Guysborough Co.
she was a daughter of the late William Burton and Marjorie (MacKenzie) Kirby.
Dearly beloved mother of Betty (Mrs. Percy Lumsden),
Cook's Cove; Carole (Mrs. George Perkons), Dartmouth;
Iris (Mrs. Henry Martin), Country Harbour.
Cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren
and dear aunt to several nieces.
Predeceased by her first husband, Harold Cooke;
second husband, Charles Cooke; infant daughters,
Bertha and Faye; sons, Findlay and Harold Jr;
grandson, David; sisters, Eva and Jessie;
brother, William. She was a long time member
and past worthy matron of Pioneer Chapter 11, OES,
Isaacs Harbour, and Chedabucto Chapter 43, OES,
Guysborough. She was also a member of Laurel Rebekah Lodge,
IOOF, Goldboro; the Women's Institute and the Red Cross.
She was honored by a book detailing her life,
written by her granddaughter, Patsy, for the family.
She was loved and respected by everyone whose lives she touched.
She will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home,
Country Harbour. Funeral service 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday in Isaacs Harbour United Baptist Church,
Lic. Don Dunn officiating. Burial in Isaacs Harbour Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made
to Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
